Ayanna Olokunsu
My chosen last name Is Olokunsu. Olokun is the androgynous Yoruba deity (Orisha) of deep waters. To me, representing shadow work and emotional healing. To know Olokun is to know Yemaya. Yemaya is Orisha of more surface waters. She is known as the Mother of all Orishas. Yemaya blesses and protects mothers and babies.
My journey in birth work began with caring for infants and supporting new parents as a long time childcare provider. In daycare centers, nannying in homes, and having my own home daycare I have held space and offered support to many families in those first sacred weeks.
Through Reiki master, Yoga teacher , Doula, and Herbal medicine training I have strengthened my spiritual path, holistic wisdom and answered the call to birth work.
